1930 Essex Super Six Model E 4 door Sedan
Essex have been credited for building the first affordable sedan and their cars still represent good value for money. The Essex Motor Company was owned by Hudson from 1922 onwards and their Super Six Model E was available in no less than 11 different body styles. This 4 door sedan example was a fairly fast machine for the period with 60hp and a 3 speed gearbox. Mechanical brakes feature on all four wheels; an option first offered in 1928 and significantly improved stopping distances.
Subject to an older restoration which has held up very well the car is in good usable condition. The car has remained original with nice interior features such as opening windscreen, original dashboard, switch gear, fixtures and fittings. The Super Six is an opportunity to enjoy a pre-war sedan which can be driven in modern traffic.
